For Mercy's Sake

Have Mercy™ was established in response to the death of a 10-month old female pitbull mix puppy, named “Mercy” by her
rescuers, who was brutally stabbed, beaten and set on fire in Plano, Texas in April 2006, allegedly all because Mercy’s owner
believed she could not be bred. The injuries inflicted on Mercy eventually took her life. An arrest was made due to a police
investigation and community involvement.

UPDATE!  The trial date against Deshann Quatrail Brown for 3rd-degree felony for abuse which led to the death of Mercy will be
on
September 24th! Please come down to the courtroom and show your support for prosecution to the extent of the law. The
3rd-degree felony indictment is for Cruelty to Animals with the finding of a deadly weapon, which carries a maximum 10-year
prison sentence.  Brown was originally charged with a State Jail Felony, which carries a maximum of 2 years in prison , so the
Dallas County DA's investigators have been able to add an additional charge to the case. Please come to support Operation
Kindness, Have Mercy, and Mercy herself. We need to tell the Dallas community that animal cruelty is unacceptable! Please
call the
Dallas County DA and ask them how to ensure this man is given the full extent of the law!

That’s the goal of Have Mercy™, to raise support from our communities to prevent animal cruelty and ensure a peaceful life,
free of suffering, for all animals.

Mercy is our motivation and inspiration to work hard to ensure there's never another 'Mercy' in our community.
